I asked Patricia 6 years ago to help me design and install a new garden in my rather small, uninspired grass-worn, postage-stamp of a front yard. She had the vision of a small, native grown pocket park….which is how I see it now 6 years later. Her great eye and ability to envision things I couldn’t even imagine is what thrilled me the most. Patricia sees gardens in shapes, and sizes and texture and color that in the end brings everything together in a beautiful way. She designed, installed and still maintains the prettiest garden on the block (except for hers of course).
Patricia recently collaborated with my general contractor to re-design and build/install my back yard as well which in contrast to the front is like a sun kissed dessert garden with red’s and chartreuse and dark greens….delicate flowing grasses and trees alongside spiky succulents. Susan’s Garden.
Patricia worked with us to revamp the out-of-date landscaping in our front yard. She listened to our ideas and helped us select a variety of plants and shrubs that provide a lovely landscape throughout the year. She obtained the plants , worked with her team to prepare the soil, constructed a small rock wall terracing, installed irrigation, and along with her team, placed the plants. She is very much “hands on” and not only supervises but gets involved in the planting herself. We live in a very walkable neighborhood and received constant compliments from neighbors as the landscaping matured and provided a beautiful show throughout the year. Working with Patricia was a rewarding experience – we enthusiastically recommend her expertise and professionalism.
We longed to transform our much neglected backyard into a place of great beauty. I wanted the yard to invite me in, be low maintenance, need low water. And….have a tropical look. Even more challenging, we live on a steep hill. From start to finish Patricia owned the project and was able to translate my desires into a vision, and then into the garden transformation. She is a great designer, and managed the project from planning to hardscaping (including two retaining walls, flagstone path, and irrigation) to the planting. Patricia Martin designed a front garden for our neighbor on Grizzly Peak that continues to impress passersby, including ourselves! It is visually dramatic, low-maintenance, and drought resistant.
